Francesca Bassa (2007)
At the 48th Science Engineering Fair of Houston, Texas this year, Francesca Bassa, a Sophomore from St. Agnes Academy in Houston, was awarded two second place trophies in the senior division of the Earth/Science category for her project entitled ' "Houston, We May Have a Problem... in 27 Hours or so. ' An early warning protocol for satellites owners. "

This success qualified Francesca for the ExxonMobil Texas Science and Engineering Fair in San Antonio, Texas this past April. Here Francesca was again a top contender- she was awarded third place in the Senior Division category of Physics and Astronomy. In addition, she was given a first place award for best use of SI in a science fair project by the United States Metric Association. See her project here!

One of Francesca's trohpies at the Science Engineering Fair was a model of the Space Shuttle, presented by Graham O'Neil, Deputy Director of Shuttle Avionics at NASA's United Space Alliance.
