Graduate Student Research Topics with Hinode Data

Protected Data Period: ≤ 18 months for students working in Japan ONLY

Beginning May 27, 2007

PROVISIONAL:
Graduate students, who have operational responsibilities (defined as working in Japan for significant periods of time as CO, CP, Tohban, or in another operational capacity), will be provided limited protection for the data sets to be used in their PhD thesis topic. This protection will last for a period not to exceed 18 months from the date of the posting of their topic. This does not restrict the use of these data sets by other scientists for different studies. It does rely on the user (Gentlemen's Agreement) to check the websites and contact either the student or her/his advisor to ensure that the use of these specific data does not directly conflict with the student's work. It is hoped that a side benefit of this process is that it will create contacts between the student and other scientists interested in similar topics. Student topics, the restricted data sets and their period of restriction, together with contact information will be available on the Hinode official websites.

Advisors: Please circulate student names, thesis topics, and data sets requested to the Science Working Group (see SSC list at the bottom of the For Scientists front page).
