The morning of launch was a bit cloudy.

At 6:36 am on September 23 (Japan Standard Time), the M-V-7 rocket carrying Hinode (Solar-B) and a few other satellites, began its journey to orbit.

The launch and flight to orbit were flawless.

The empty launchpad looks rather lonely.
