These two images were taken on Nov 13 and 14, 2006. Both images are from Hinode's XRT using the Al/poly filter. The plasma here is at about 2-4 million degrees. All XRT images are courtesy of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

This XRT image was made on 9 November at 06:56 UT. Note the bright region on the left of
the image. This corresponds to NOAA active region 10923, which was just barely visible on the eighth after rotating around on
the east limb. On the opposite limb of the Sun, are NOAA active regions
10921
and 10922,
which are about
to disappear as they rotate around the west limb. None of these regions produced flares in the previous 24 hours.
